RedRun : prototype and roadmap
This is “RedRun : Crusher Escape”. I Hesitated between two titles, so I took both.
This is a simple (but sometimes challenging) plateformer. You must run, jump, escape, dodge and find the exit. There are pikes and bullets. Nothing really new or revolutionary here, I just wanted to finish a short game, for once, with music, pixel art and level design, and be very proud and ready for a second game.
This game is still a prototype and was started on december 5th 2022, using the Godot Engine.
I have a road map !! We are currently in phase 1, that means level design (and well, …everything) is a huge work in progress.
Phase 1 : build gameplay and mechanics
Build a full set of 20 levels, with all tools, foes and components for the game. Mechanics (like danger or foes) are introduced progressively in the game to have a quick global view.

Phase 2 : level design
Once the 20 “random” levels are ready, with all mechanics and components, work more closely on every level to improve them, make them as fun as possible, add variety, and tune difficulty. Prepare a story in design (see next phase).

Phase 3 : storytelling and tutorial
Add some storytelling elements to provide a warm and unforgettable story (well, to add some meaning to this game, and life in general). Make a quick tutorial (arrows and jump, anyway)

Phase 4 : polish
Finish pixel art, sounds and music, try to make the game as shiny (decent) as possible.
